'I don't get it.' 

Yeah fair enough. It's Tolstoy's War & Peace, just with an Aussie accent. Because it makes me laugh.

Many people have translated War & Peace into English over the years, most notably: Maude, Garnett, P&V, and Briggs. Each translation has its merits. I'm creating a new translation, and adding 'Louis' to the ranks. 

My version is faithful; nothing is missing, line for line, word for word. The only difference: the narrator is now a massive bogan. 

Legitimately, if you read the Louis translation you can still claim you've read Tolstoy's War and Peace.

'What the heck just happened!?'

The project started as a brain break hobby, something I did purely for a laugh. Book 1 came out in 2019. After being a complete and utter flop, and with no spare time for a project that was only for my own amusement, it was eventually relegated to the eternal back-burner. 

Then, after six years in obscurity, Bogan War and Peace randomly went viral. It started with a Bluesky post, courtesy of a wonderful stranger on the internet - and sort of spiralled out of control from there! 

I really thought this project was dead. And then it came roaring back to life. I'm picking it back up, and I'm pumped to see what happens next. 

I am rapt that I get to keep adding swear words to Tolstoy. What a beautiful world.
